Journey to Jordan

Friends, family or a romantic trip

Petra

The Magic of the Desert

Petra, the Jordanian "Desert Rose", has been selected as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Petra symbolizes the fascinating encounter between East and West, North and South, and is located at a crossroads that connected the convoys that arrived from Saudi Arabia, Syria and Mesopotamia.
The city is carved into the rock by the Nabataeans, the same people who originated in Saudi Arabia and settled in Petra in the 5th century BC. Over the course of 600 years, more than 700 structures have been carved into the rocks on an area spanning many kilometers.

Petra got its name from the Romans (Petrum – rock) but its original name was "Rakmo", which means multifaceted.

Petra is both a natural and archaeological marvel and is definitely one of the most enchanting sites in the Middle East.
The natural treasures, the pathways engraved in the rock stone (including the famous "Sikh" passage), the colorful corridors designed by the wind and sand, the spectacular colors that range from yellow to purple, orange and red, to green and blue are what give the place a unique and unique look.
Petra offers an experiential combination of rich and exciting archeology of Roman buildings alongside impressive Nabatean tombs.
